The Sassy Savant: Autism Is Not A “Get Out Of Jail Free” Card
Calling out trolls that use a developmental disability as an excuse to be racist
There’s been this whole trend that I’ve been seeing on Twitter lately…and it makes me want to puke. I try to keep away from that sector of the popular social media platform, but somehow a few of them forget their place and mind someone else’s business instead of their own. This sector I’m talking about are the dregs of society that take pleasure in doing what they call “shitposting” because they don’t have anything productive to do with their lives. I am referring to racists that use autism as an excuse to act like clods of turd left on the street. Pardon the rather graphic expression, but that’s how I take these trolls to be.
For anyone who’s ever perused Twitter, you may have seen this type of troll. They make all these burner accounts and tweet with child-like speech that they’re looking for “frens”. Now in case you need to be on the up & up, “fren” is a double play on words. It’s a corrupted spelling of the word friend and is also an acronym for “Far-Right Ethno-Nationalist”. They’re best known for having banners and avatars of some drooling, inbred-looking frog wearing a blue baseball hat that says it has autism. They try to play innocent in making jokes about Black people…
