A poem about spiritual and mental health

A Hypnotic Spiral

Downward I spin into chaos,
Out of control,
Twisting and tumbling,
No one to catch me,
Only those that torment me,
Forcing me into the abyss
With no light visible
Except in my own mind,
Now the only light I see
Is within me,
Breaking free,
Free from this turmoil,
Free from this pain,
Free from this darkness,
Free from this chaos,
And free from this torture,
Now I stand here in the light,
In a place devoid of evil
Where no demon dwells,
For his weapon will fail
To harm my soul.

I wrote this poem a few months ago as a way of doing some healing within, dealing with both spiritual and mental health. Most times, my articles and stories can be jovial and lighthearted, but sometimes I feel the need to share ny more serious work. Writing, along with crocheting, has been an outlet for me to turn negative energy into something positive and creative. And to my followers, new and current, I give you my sincerest thanks for coming along with me as I take this journey through life. Some of you may coincidentally be on a similar path as I am. Wherever your destination may be, I pray that you overcome those obstacles that you face every day.
